Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) – Trauma & Acute Care Surgery Nocturnist (Direct Hire)
Level II Trauma Center | Loveland, Colorado
A respected Level II Trauma Center in Northern Colorado is seeking an exceptionally skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join its high-acuity Trauma and Acute Care Surgery team as a full-time Nocturnist.
This is a permanent, direct-hire position delivering advanced overnight surgical and trauma care in a collaborative, high-performance environment serving the Rocky Mountain region.
Position Overview

Role: Trauma & Acute Care Surgery APP (NP or PA) – Nocturnist

Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (overnight coverage)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire ONLY

Facility: Level II Trauma Center

EMR: Epic
No locums or locum-to-perm candidates will be considered.
Candidates must be able to clear a system-wide application and credentialing process.
Key Responsibilities
The Advanced Practice Provider will:

Provide comprehensive overnight Trauma and Acute Care Surgery coverage
-
Perform patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostics, and develop treatment plans
-
Manage trauma and emergency general surgery patients across inpatient settings
-
Assist trauma surgeons with procedures and ongoing patient management
-
Practice autonomously while collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
-
Document all patient care using Epic EMR
-
Comply with medical staff bylaws, privileging standards, and clinical protocols
-
Maintain high standards for patient safety, quality, and performance
-
Participate in mentorship, leadership development, and continuing education programs
Candidate Requirements
Required
-
Graduate of an accredited Advanced Practice program with one of the following:
-
Nurse Practitioner: Master’s degree in Nursing
-
Physician Assistant: Graduate of an accredited PA program
-

Board Certification:
-
NP: ANCC or AANPCB
-
PA: NCCPA
-
-
Unrestricted Colorado license (NP or PA, as applicable)
Assistance with obtaining a Colorado license is available for qualified candidates -
Eligible for DEA and Medicare/Medicaid provider enrollment

BLS certification (no exemptions)
-
No sanctions or exclusions from HHS/OIG or GSA
-
Eligible to complete full credentialing prior to start
Experience
-
Minimum 2 years of Trauma Surgery experience
OR -
Completion of a surgical fellowship (highly preferred)

Fresh graduates will not be considered
Additional Notes

Clean malpractice and license history highly preferred

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $136,822 – $179,379 (based on experience)
