Job Details

- Provider Type Needed: Vascular Surgery Physician Assistant
- Schedule: Monday-Thursday first assist in OR or floor coverage, 7am to end of last case; Saturday and Sunday rounding with MD and assisting in OR; average call of 1 weeknight per week and 1 weekend per month (Friday 7am through Monday 7am)
Responsibilities and Duties
- First assist in the operating room for vascular surgery cases
- Provide floor coverage for surgical patients
- Participate in weekend rounding with the physician and assist with OR cases
- Take call coverage: 1 weeknight per week and 1 weekend per month, responsible for floor calls from nursing and outpatient families overnight
- Remain available if two ORs are active past 4/5pm when not post or pre-call
- Saturday and Sunday: manage nursing and home phone calls from 7am to 7pm
- Collaborate with attending physicians during all on-call shifts
Additional Information
- Must have active Virginia license
- Required board certification in Vascular Surgery
- Must provide vascular surgery case logs
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and DEA certification required
- The assignment does not include post-op clinic duties
