We are seeking an experienced Trauma and Acute Care Surgery (ACS) Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join a dynamic surgical team at a Level II Trauma Center in Thousand Oaks, California. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, teaching hospital environment with strong daily supervision and the potential to transition into a full-time role.
Position Overview
- Trauma Level: Level II Trauma Center
- Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM shifts
- Annual Shift Count: 146 total 12-hour shifts
- Compensation: $958.40 per shift
Responsibilities
- Provide Trauma and ACS services in a high-acuity setting.
- Perform inpatient responsibilities including rounds, consults, discharges, and bedside procedures.
- Participate in trauma resuscitation and emergency surgical evaluations.
- Work alongside and be paired daily with a supervising trauma surgeon for direct support.
- Contribute to a teaching hospital environment, supporting medical students and fostering continuous learning.
- Maintain thorough clinical documentation and follow established care protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Requirements
- Active California PA or NP License
- 1–2 years of prior surgical experience (Trauma, ACS, or related field preferred)
