Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Trauma Advanced practice Provider to join the Extant Healthcare team at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.Qualified Candidates:
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with outside of training
- Strong clinical and procedural skills in trauma care
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with patients, nursing, physicians and administration
- Board certification and current Virginia license or eligibility to obtain

- Assist in the management of patients with acute traumatic injuries in both emergency and inpatient settings
- Provide interoperative support during trauma surgeries, including preoperative preparation, assisting during surgery, and postoperative care
- Participate in trauma resuscitation and emergency interventions as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Participate in training and education of medical students, residents, and other healthcare staff
- 466-bed Level l Trauma Center and Level l Burn Center
- ACGME approved General Surgery Residency
- 65-bed Emergency Department
- 12-bed dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department
- 15 operating rooms
- Tucker Pavilion – 137 beds dedicated to inpatient acute behavioral health care
- Levinson Heart Institute – Cardiac surgery program, 3 interventional cardiac catheterization labs, 3 electrophysiology labs, ECMO programs, interventional radiology suite for Convergent Maze and IR procedures for AFIB
