Job description
Seeking a Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to assist the orthopedic trauma surgery team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing acute orthopedic injuries in a hospital or trauma setting and be confident working in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons and other hospital staff.
Compensation: $800 Per Shift
Responsibilities Include:
- First assist in the OR (if credentialed and experienced)
- Perform orthopedic consults in ED and inpatient floors
- Manage pre- and post-operative orthopedic patients
- Perform joint reductions, splinting, and wound care
- Order and interpret imaging and labs
- Coordinate with trauma and surgical teams
Requirements:
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
- Active Texas license and DEA
- BLS/ACLS certification
- Orthopedic and/or surgical first assist experience required
- Prior experience in a trauma or hospital-based orthopedic setting required
