Job description We are seeking an experienced Surgery - Cardiovascular and Thoracic Physician Assistant for a 32-day locum tenens assignment in Ohio. This opportunity begins on Nov 24, 2025, and features 12-hour night call shifts every Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm to 6am. The role requires proficiency as a first assist and recent experience with the Maquet Hemopro 2 system.

  • Provider Type Needed: Surgery - Cardiovascular and Thoracic Physician Assistant
  • Schedule: Night call shifts every Tuesday and Thursday, 6pm-6am; on-call with approximately a 7% chance of being called in; most calls managed by phone; typically called in once every 10 shifts

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide first assist duties in cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures
  • Respond to night call coverage and manage patient care needs, with most issues handled remotely by phone
  • Be available within a 30-minute range from the hospital for potential call-ins
  • Utilize Maquet Hemopro 2 during surgical procedures as required
  • Maintain required certifications and adhere to advanced cardiac life support protocols
  • Document care and manage records using Epic EMR

Additional Information
  • Must hold a current Ohio license
  • NCCPA certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • Recent experience with Maquet Hemopro 2 is mandatory
  • Credentialing process estimated at 2-3 weeks
