Exciting locum opportunity for a Physician Assistant experienced in Cardiothoracic Surgery to join a top-performing surgical team in Lexington, KY. This position offers excellent hourly pay, flexible scheduling, and the chance to work on high-acuity cardiac and thoracic procedures alongside expert surgeons.
Exciting locum opportunity for a Physician Assistant experienced in Cardiothoracic Surgery to join a top-performing surgical team in Lexington, KY. This position offers excellent hourly pay, flexible scheduling, and the chance to work on high-acuity cardiac and thoracic procedures alongside expert surgeons.
Job Responsibilities
• First assist in CABG, AVR, MVR, thoracotomy, and lung resection procedures.
• Perform vein harvesting and chest tube placement.
• Provide care in OR, ICU, and telemetry settings.
• Conduct inpatient rounds, procedures, and post-op management.
• Cover 1–2 call days per week and 1 weekend per month (7 AM Fri – 7 AM Mon).
Qualifications
• Board-Certified Physician Assistant with an active KY license (or eligible to obtain).
• ACLS & BLS certifications required.
• 2+ years of surgical/CT experience preferred.
• Clean malpractice record strongly preferred.
• Must be skilled in first-assisting during cardiothoracic surgeries.
Working Hours
• Day shifts with on-call requirements.
• 1–2 call days/week and 1 weekend/month (7 AM–7 AM).
• Start Date: As soon as credentialed.
