Required Skills:
- Certified Physician Assistant with current NY state license (no licensing assistance needed)
- Proven experience in cardiothoracic surgery or related surgical specialties
- Proficiency in procedures including vascular tissue retrieval, endoscopic retrieval, chest tube insertions, and assisting in cardiac surgeries
- Ability to round on patients, coordinate care, diagnose and treat illnesses, and interpret diagnostic tests
- Strong suturing and documentation skills using Cerner EMR system
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekdays, nights, and weekends
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience in an inpatient/hospital setting with trauma or high-acuity care
- Additional certifications such as ACLS or BLS
- Experience with trauma level designations is a plus
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Minimum of 2 years of surgical or cardiothoracic clinical experience preferred
- Knowledge of hospital protocols and EMR documentation processes
Other Requirements:
- Ability to start as soon as possible; credentialing estimated at 60 days
- Availability for varied shifts, including night and weekend call coverage
- No travel or additional certifications required at this time
