Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant
- Proficiency in harvesting veins and assisting in all open heart surgeries
- Strong suturing skills and familiarity with pre- and post-operative surgical care
- Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and patient management skills
- Experience with Epic EMR is preferred but not mandatory
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience in cardiothoracic surgery or critical care
- Advanced suturing and surgical assisting skills
- Familiarity with outpatient and inpatient surgical workflows
- Bilingual abilities to better serve diverse patient populations
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current and active PA license and certification
- At least 2 years of cardio-thoracic surgical experience preferred
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:00 pm
- Flexibility to work additional hours past 8 hours daily as needed, with applicable overtime compensation
- Call responsibilities, primarily on weekends, with callback duties and related compensation
- Must be available for a minimum commitment of 3 weeks per month to ensure consistency
- Certification in ACLS and BLS preferred
- Travel and licensure expenses reimbursed as applicable
