Job description
We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to provide locum coverage in the General Surgery department of a Novi, MI hospital. This is an OR-focused role supporting a busy surgical team with strong robotic surgery volume.
Job Responsibilities
Placement of ports and closure of port sites
Occasional assistance in non-robotic cases
Documentation, discharges, and prescriptions as needed
Qualifications
State License: Active Michigan license – Required
Certifications: BLS & ACLS (AHA) – Required
Experience: 2–3 years with robotic bedside first-assist in GYN, urology, general surgery, and bariatrics – Required
EMR: Cerner (preferred)
Working Hours
Dates: September 29, 2025 – January 2, 2026 (option to remain PRN)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. (some flexibility)
Hours: 40 per week
Call: None required
Setting: Hospital-based OR; >20 operating rooms, 3 DaVinci robots
Skills
Surgeons & residents present in all cases
Support from scrub techs and circulating nurses
Large robotic surgery program with >30 credentialed surgeons
Compensation & Travel
Pay: $110–$120/hr
Local candidates preferred; hotel & mileage reimbursed if approved
Temps approved; credentialing 60–120 days
