Job description

Job description Full-time opportunity for a Physician Assistant to join the Orthopedic Surgery team at a 127-bed community hospital. The role involves surgical first-assist, inpatient care, and outpatient responsibilities, working collaboratively with orthopedic surgeons and hospital staff to deliver high-quality patient care.

Job Responsibilities

โ€ข First assist in orthopedic surgeries, including closures and appliance applications.
โ€ข Conduct inpatient rounds, ED consults, and post-op follow-up care.
โ€ข Order, interpret, and correlate diagnostic studies (X-rays, MRI, EMG, bone scans, labs).
โ€ข Perform procedures: joint aspirations, injections, fracture reductions, wound care, tendon repairs, splinting, and casting.
โ€ข Complete patient education, discharge summaries, progress notes, and documentation.
โ€ข Participate in equitable call coverage (weekdays, weekends, holidays).
โ€ข Collaborate with supervising surgeon on treatment planning.
โ€ข Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and orders.
โ€ข Support quality assurance, safety, and multidisciplinary initiatives.

Qualifications

โ€ข Board Certified Physician Assistant โ€“ REQUIRED
โ€ข Oregon state license (or ability to obtain) โ€“ REQUIRED
โ€ข Minimum 2 years inpatient Orthopedic PA experience preferred (new grads considered)
โ€ข Ties to Oregon (family, prior residence, or long-term interest) โ€“ REQUIRED
โ€ข Epic EMR experience preferred

Working Hours

โ€ข Full-time, days
โ€ข Shared equitable on-call rotation including nights, weekends, and holidays
