Job Description
Large Medical Center in North/Central Michigan is seeking an experienced Surgical APP for ongoing locum tenens coverage. We are offering competitive hourly compensation, along with paid travel, and medical malpractice coverage. Here are additional details:
- 7 on/7 off; 6p-6a
- Orientation: April 5, Shadowing April 6 & 7
- Begin 7 on/7 off rotation, April 8 – 14, April 22 – April 28, etc.
- This need is on-going
Cases/Procedures:
- Manage inpatient admissions and consults for trauma, general surgery and urology
- Respond to level I and level II trauma’s, perform admissions/H&P/Consults
- Acting as hospital wide first call for all inpatient surgical services (general surgery, trauma, ortho, urology, colorectal)
- Proficient in suturing, central lines, art lines, and tube placement
- Evaluate general surgical & trauma consults/admissions and discuss with on call general surgeon
- Board any surgical cases
- Urology admissions/consults/board cases for surgery
- Troubleshoot foley catheters/troubleshoot continuous bladder irrigation/assist with set up for bedside procedure if surgeon is needed
EMR and Dictation Tools:
- EPIC/Dragon
Required experience, training, and certifications:
- ACLS & ATLS
Case Log Requirements:
- 50 cases within 12 months
Licenses:
- Prefer candidates to have active MI license, will consider those who need to obtain
Credentialing Timeframe:
- Typically 30 days
- In addition to the on-going dates above, we also need two weeks of coverage while our long term locum is out on leave. The dates we need for that stretch are:
- 05/10: orientation
- 05/11 – 05/12: shadowing
- 05/13 – 05/20;05/27 – 06/03 (6p-6a)
