This 247-bed, Level 1 Trauma center is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider who wants to join a team of nine cardiothoracic surgeons and clinicians to help this department continue to expand and serve the state of Missouri while helping guide the development and implementation of structure, process, and outcome standards. This flagship hospital is home to a Seven-Story Critical Care Tower that provides the latest medical technology for critical and/or injured patients. The quickly expanding organization is looking to secure top talent in the Cardiothoracic Advanced Practitioner arena. If you possess the following, we want to visit.
- A strong knowledge of cardiothoracic surgery or related specialty
- Strong knowledge of patient care and safety in a hospital environment
- Strong working knowledge of perioperative and follow-up care
- Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery
Duties and skills required:
- Obtain H&P’s for both inpatients and outpatients
- Complete and review discharge summaries, including patient and family education
- Assist in the perioperative management of patients
- Proficient in endoscopic vein harvesting for coronary artery bypass grafts
- Able to teach other Advanced Practice Providers endovein harvesting if needed
- Fill first assist role in all open-heart surgical cases which include: CABG, valve repair and replacement, repair of ascending/descending aortic aneurysm and dissection, cardiac tumors, arrhythmia surgery, epicardia ablation, and occasional ECMOs. No surgical VAD or heart transplants currently.
