A leading regional medical center in Ohio is seeking an experienced Cardiac Surgical Physician Assistant (PA) for locum tenens coverage this spring and summer. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a collaborative cardiothoracic and vascular surgery team in a high-acuity setting.

Position Highlights

Adult & geriatric patient population
5–20 patients per day
Mix of ICU/CVICU coverage and call (OR call included)
Epic EMR
Coverage needed: April–July

Open Dates

April 6 (7a) – April 13 (7a)
April 20 (7a) – June 1 (7a)

Key Responsibilities

Rounding and coordination of care
Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
Writing prescriptions
Vein harvesting
Surgical assist (preferred, not required)

Candidate Requirements

Board Certified PA (NPs with surgical experience also considered)
ACLS certification
Cardiothoracic surgery experience preferred (critical care background considered; no new grads)
Active Ohio license preferred (or ability to obtain quickly)
COVID vaccination required
NPDB self-query (within 30 days)

Additional Details

Credentialing: 60–90 days (temporary privileges possible in ~45 days)
