Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Can present you according to the provider's availability)
On-Call: No required call (Optional paid call available)
Position Overview:
The facility is seeking a dedicated Neurosurgery PA to join a full-time neurosurgery team. The role focuses primarily on spine surgery (approximately 80%) with cranial cases comprising about 20% of the practice. This position offers a balanced surgical and inpatient consult experience in a collaborative hospital-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- First assist in neurosurgical procedures, primarily spine and cranial cases
- Perform minor procedures including wound suturing and wound aspirations
- Provide perioperative patient management
- Conduct inpatient consults, including ICU consults as needed
- Participate in preoperative and postoperative patient care
- Collaborate closely with the neurosurgery attending physician (full-time onsite coverage)
Clinical Volume:
- 5–7 surgeries per week on average
- Patient census varies based on elective surgery schedule
- Evening and weekend coverage managed by on-call APP with formal sign-out process
Requirements:
- Active New York license
- Experience as a surgical first assist required.
