📍 Position Overview
- Role: Physician Assistant – Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Location: Pennsylvania
- Start: ASAP
- Assignment Length: 6–8 months (ongoing potential through Feb 2027)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Shifts Needed: ~20 shifts per month (1 FTE)
- Call: None (possible light weekend rounding once monthly)
- EMR: Epic
🫀 Clinical Responsibilities
OR Coverage
- Endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH)
- First assisting in cardiac surgery
Inpatient Care
- Post-op patient management
- Rounding and documentation
- Orders, admissions, discharges, consults
- Removal of drains and pacing wires
Clinic (1 day/week)
- Post-op visits
- New patient consults with surgeon
- Pre-op education
- Outpatient phone management
📊 Patient & Program Details
- Patient Volume: ~6–8 per day
- Case Types: CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR
- Program Volume: ~150 open hearts annually
- Hospital: Level II Trauma Center
- Team Support: Cardiac PAs, dedicated office staff, daily MD coverage
✅ Requirements
- Board Certified Physician Assistant
- Active Pennsylvania license (or willing to obtain)
- BLS & ACLS required
- PA DEA required
