Locums - Omaha, Nebraska - PA CVT Surgery

Clinical Role: An academic medical center in Omaha, Nebraska is seeking a Physician Assistant with Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery experience for an ongoing locums assignment. This opportunity supports maternity leave coverage within a high-functioning CVT program at a Level I Trauma facility.

Start Date: ASAP – Ongoing

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Routine daily operative coverage with some clinic responsibilities

  • Call begins nightly at 5:00 PM (operative call only, at surgeon discretion)

  • If covering, provider will be on call each night

FTE Requirement:

  • Seeking one 1.0 FTE for daily operative coverage and call

Practice Setting:

  • Academic medical center

  • Level I Trauma facility (low trauma call volume)

  • EMR: EPIC

  • Dedicated CVOR team including rad techs, anesthesia, circulating and scrub nurses

Duties:

  • Operative first assist

  • Endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH)

  • Support for cardiothoracic surgical cases

  • Some routine clinic coverage

Procedures Include:

  • CABG with EVH

  • Aortic valve replacement (AVR)

  • Mitral valve replacement (MVR)

  • Pericardial window

  • VATS

  • Thoracotomy

  • AV fistula

  • Permacath placement

  • Carotid endarterectomy

  • Lower extremity bypass

  • Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair

  • Lower extremity angiogram

  • PD catheter placement

  • Below-knee and above-knee amputations

  • Inari and EKOS procedures

  • Vein ablation

  • Wound debridement

Requirements:

  • Board Certified Physician Assistant required

  • Nebraska license highly preferred

    • Will consider non-licensed candidates who can obtain a license by April

    • Temporary license may be considered

  • ACLS, BLS, and DEA required
