Locum PA - Surgery - Cardiovascular Opportunities in MI!

ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant) to join the Cardiovascular Surgery team in Lansing, Michigan. This is a rounding-focused role supporting both cardiac and vascular surgeons, with no operating room responsibilities. The position is a locum opportunity starting in February, following a recent APP resignation.

Dates / Schedule

• Start Date: February (ASAP)

• Work Schedule: 4-day, 10-hour shifts

• On-Call: 1 in 4 weeks (first call from home)

• Weekends: 1 weekend per month (solo coverage)

• Average Patient Load: ~15 patients/day (weekends typically 15–30)

Job Details & Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient rounding and clinical support for cardiac and vascular surgery patients

• Manage patients across multiple units, including:

  • CVICU: 2–8 patients/day

  • CVSU: 2–5 patients/day (includes discharges)

  • Vascular service: 4–10 patients across ICU and floor (often not primary service)

• Weekend coverage involves independent management of the service

• Practice setting is a Level 1 Trauma Center

• Documentation completed in Epic EMR

• No operating room duties required

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Board Certified APP (PA): Required

• BLS & ACLS Certifications: Required

• Michigan medical license or NLC: Preferred

• Experienced providers only (no new grads)

• Clean malpractice and license history: Highly preferred

• NPDB self-query (within 30 days): Required at presentation
