RecruitWell is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery NP or PA for a locum opportunity in Cleveland, Ohio. This role requires strong cardiac and thoracic surgical experience, including robotic thoracic surgery, ICU management, and call coverage.
Assignment Details-
Start Date: January 30, 2026

Duration: 13 weeks initially (anticipated need at least 6 months, ongoing not guaranteed)

Primary Shift: 7:00a – 3:30p (weekday coverage needed)

Call Requirements:

24-hour call (not in-house)
-
1 weekday call
-
1 weekend call (Friday–Sunday)

Weekend & Holiday Rounding Required

Flexibility to cover two hospitals approximately 15 minutes apart
-
Specialty: Cardiothoracic Surgery

2 Cardiac Surgeons

1 Thoracic Surgeon

5 Physician Assistants

Thoracic Surgery

Robotic thoracic surgery

VATS

Open thoracotomy

First assist required
Cardiac Surgery

CABG

AVR / MVR

Ascending aneurysms
-
Aortic dissections (non-robotic)

First and second assist
-
Endoscopic saphenous vein harvest (Hemo Pro required)

Open radial and/or endoscopic radial harvest (preferred)
Additional Responsibilities
-
ICU and step-down management (cardiac and thoracic)

Rounding on weekends and holidays
-
Temporary pacing wire removal
-
IABP manipulation/removal
-
Vein and radial harvesting
-
Chest tube sclerosis
-
Epic (experience required)
-
PA or Acute Care CNP – Required

Extensive cardiac and thoracic surgery experience – Required

Active Ohio license – Required
-
ACLS & BLS – Required
-
DEA – Required
-
Ohio CSR – Required
-
Clean background – Required
