π« About the Opportunity:
Join a leading hospital-based Cardiothoracic Surgery team providing exceptional inpatient care at one of New Jerseyβs top health systems! This locum opportunity offers hands-on surgical experience, complex case exposure, and collaboration with a renowned cardiac surgical team.
Weβre seeking a skilled and experienced PA-C who can hit the ground running β this role requires an active NJ license and strong surgical proficiency, including Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) and first assist in the OR.
π©Ί Position Overview:
Practice Setting: Inpatient / Hospital-based
Start Date: As soon as credentialed
Average Volume:
- Operate on 2 patients/day
- Round on 5β12 patients/day (ICU & floor)
- Includes consults
EMR: Cerner
Trauma Level: None
Credentialing Timeframe: 60 days
π Schedule Details:
ποΈ Weekdays: MondayβFriday | 8β10-hour in-house shifts
π Night Call: 6 PM β 6 AM
π₯ Weekend Call: Friday 6 PM β Monday 6 AM
- Rounding Saturday & Sunday: 7 AMβ12 PM
β Required Skills & Procedures:
- Retrieval of vascular tissues for bypass conduit
- Endoscopic vein harvesting
- Chest tube insertions
- First assist in cardiac surgery
- Rounding, coordination of care, ordering & interpreting tests
- Diagnosis & treatment of illnesses
- Prescription management
- Suture removal

NCCPA Certification β REQUIRED

Active New Jersey License β REQUIRED (no exceptions)
β
CSR β REQUIRED
β
2β3+ years Cardiothoracic Surgery experience (including EVH and first assist)
β
BLS & ACLS Certifications
π» Cerner EMR experience β Preferred
