Job description
We are urgently seeking Physician Assistants (PAs) to provide Cardiothoracic Surgery coverage at our New Jersey facility. This position involves direct inpatient care, surgical assisting, and rounding in a high-acuity hospital environment.
Position Details:

Practice Setting: Inpatient / Hospital-based

Average Volume:
-
Operate on ~2 patients/day

Round on 5–12 patients/day (ICU and floor, including consults)

Trauma Level: None

EMR: Cerner
Schedule
-
Weekdays: Monday–Friday, 8–10-hour in-house shifts

Nights: 6 PM – 6 AM (call coverage)

Weekends: Friday 6 PM – Monday 6 AM

Rounding from 7 AM–12 PM Saturday & Sunday

Coverage Needed: Weekday, weekend, and night call coverage (varied shifts)
Required Skills & Duties
Procedures:
-
Retrieval of vascular tissues for bypass conduit (including endoscopic retrieval)
-
Chest tube insertions
-
First assist in cardiac surgery
Responsibilities:

Inpatient rounding and coordination of care

Assist in OR for cardiac surgery
-
Diagnose and treat illnesses
-
Order and interpret diagnostic tests
-
Write prescriptions and perform suture removal
Qualifications
NCCPA Certification
Current CSR
2–3+ years of Cardiothoracic Surgery experience, including Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) and first assist experience
Experience with Cerner EMR
