Cardiothoracic Surgery | Inpatient/Hospital-Based | Ongoing Need

Opportunity Snapshot: A reputable hospital in Atlantic City, New Jersey, is seeking a Board-Certified PA for cardiothoracic surgery coverage. This role includes weekday, night, and weekend shifts with rounding, first assist in the OR, and inpatient care responsibilities. Providers must hold an active New Jersey license.

Key Details:

• Coverage Dates: ASAP – Ongoing Need

• Schedule:

  • Weekdays: Monday–Friday, 8–10 hour days in-house

  • Night Call: 6:00p–6:00a

  • Weekend Call: Friday 6:00p–Monday 6:00a with rounding 7:00a–12:00p Saturday & Sunday

• Practice Setting: Inpatient/Hospital-based

• Patient Volume: Operate on ~2 patients/day; round on 5–12 patients/day (ICU and floor), includes consults

• EMR: Cerner

Required Procedures & Duties:

• Retrieval of vascular tissues for use as bypass conduit

• Endoscopic vein harvest (EVH)

• Chest tube insertions

• First assist in cardiac surgery

• Rounding and coordination of care

• Diagnose and treat illnesses, order/interpret tests, write prescriptions, suture removal

Requirements:

• NCCPA Certification – Required

• Active New Jersey License – Required (no licensing delays)

• CSR – Required

• Minimum 2–3 years of Cardiothoracic Surgery experience including EVH and first assist

• Cerner EMR experience – Preferred
