Schedule: Full-Time Coverage
- Weekdays: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Night Call: 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend Call: Required
- Minimum Coverage Requirement: Provider must be able to offer at least one full week of weekday and call coverage.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced NP (with RNFA) or PA to provide full-time first assist coverage in Cardiovascular Surgery at an academic medical center in Kentucky. This is a high-acuity, adult-only practice with a strong focus on quality and collaboration.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Participate in morning rounds with faculty (typically 5–10 ICU patients).
- First assist in cardiovascular procedures, including CABG.
- Perform endoscopic vein harvesting independently.
- No responsibility for signing in as first call for patients.
- EMR: Epic
Requirements:
- Certification: NP (must have RNFA) or PA
- Licensure:
- NP: Must hold a valid Kentucky license
- PA: Must be eligible for licensure in Kentucky
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year recent experience first assisting in cardiovascular procedures
- Proficient in endoscopic vein harvesting
- Strong first assist skills
- Prior experience with Epic EMR

- Collaborative team of faculty and surgical staff
