An exceptional opportunity for an experienced Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join a highly specialized Cardiac Surgery team in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO. The role involves providing perioperative and ICU care, first-assisting in complex cardiac procedures, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver world-class patient outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
First-assist in complex cardiac surgeries, including endoscopic vein harvesting.
Manage ICU and cardiovascular surgical patients (CVICU, floor, clinic).
Rotate OR coverage Monday–Friday + 2 full-day clinics weekly.
Conduct rounds, order & interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications.
Perform bedside procedures and ensure accurate clinical documentation.
Operate independently while collaborating with surgeons and intensivists.
Qualifications
PA-C certification (NCCPA) – Required.
Minimum 3+ years of cardiac/cardiovascular surgery + ICU experience.
Experience with endoscopic vein harvesting + first-assist – Required.
DEA license + full prescriptive authority – Required.
Active Colorado state license (or ability to obtain).
BLS certification – Required.
Medicare/Medicaid eligible, with no sanctions/exclusions.
Working Hours
OR coverage Monday–Friday
2 full-day clinics weekly, additional patient care as needed
