Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant, North Carolina - Night Shifts Only
Inpatient-only cardiothoracic APP role in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with no OR time or procedures required.
Highlights
- No clinic, OR, or procedures required
- Flexible 12-hour night shifts - 3 to 4 per week
- Surgeon on call with daytime team support
Practice Setting
- Cardiothoracic inpatient unit - no outpatient responsibilities
- Solo overnight coverage (7p-7a)
- Focus on patient monitoring, discharge prep, and paperwork
- Backed by daytime MD team and surgical staff
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts - 7 on/7 off or 3-4 shifts/week
- Full-time, ongoing assignment until perm hire
- Rotating schedule provides predictability and time off between shifts
Cases and Procedures
- No procedural work required - floor management only
- Handle step-down unit and ICU stayovers
- Discharge planning and documentation are primary duties
Requirements
- Active North Carolina PA license
- ACLS, BLS, and DEA required
- 2+ years of experience in hospital or surgical settings
