Job description
This is a high-acuity environment involving advanced cardiac therapies and post-operative care of cardiac surgery and transplant patients.

Manage assigned patients in a 30-bed critical care unit

Perform daily rounds, assessments, order entry, and patient management

Handle admissions, post-operative care, and perform bedside procedures, including:

Arterial lines
-
Central lines
-
Swan-Ganz catheter
-
IABP removal
-
-
Manage patients on VA & VV ECMO, Impella, LVAD, and cardiac transplant support
-
Collaborate closely with Intensivists and interdisciplinary care teams
-
Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner EMR system
-
Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
-
Active Pennsylvania medical license (IMLC not accepted)
-
Board Certified in Critical Care
-
Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cardiac ICU or high-acuity critical care setting
-
Proficient in advanced procedures and managing devices such as ECMO and LVADs
-
ACLS and BLS certifications required
-
PALS not required
-
Three 13-hour shifts per week
-
Rotating day/night, weekend, and holiday coverage
-
Lunch breaks are unpaid and require clocking out
-
No guaranteed hours; overtime must be pre-approved

Job Responsibilities

Skills

Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced ICU environment
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
