Locum Cardiovascular Surgery Physician Assistant
Schedule: Four 10-hour days per week, with night and weekend call responsibilities. Specific days of the week may be flexible and will be discussed.
About the Opportunity:
Hospital is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Cardiovascular Surgery Physician Assistant to join our busy surgical team on a locum basis for three months, from June 1st to September 1st, 2025. This position involves a combination of clinic responsibilities and night/weekend call coverage.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting cardiovascular surgeons in the operating room.
- Providing pre- and post-operative patient care in a clinic setting.
- Conducting patient rounds and managing inpatient care.
- Participating in night and weekend call coverage, managing emergent and urgent cardiovascular surgical needs.
- Collaborating effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other members of the surgical team.
Qualifications:
- Physician Assistant (PA) certification.
- Must have previous experience working as a Physician Assistant in a Cardiovascular Surgery setting.
- Board Eligible (BE) or Board Certified (BC) as a Physician Assistant.
- Strong clinical skills in cardiovascular surgery and patient management.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using the Cerner EMR system is desirable.
Call Responsibilities: Night and weekend call coverage is required. Specific call schedule details will be provided.
Schedule: Four 10-hour days per week (specific days TBD) plus night and weekend call.
Minimum Board Certification: Board Eligible (BE) or Board Certified (BC) as a Physician Assistant.
