A renowned, top-tier radiology practice in Portland, Oregon, is seeking an exceptional Physician Assistant (PA) to join their dynamic Interventional Radiology (IR) team! Candidates with backgrounds in radiology, surgery, emergency medicine, or critical care will be considered for this exciting new role.
This practice boasts a strong team of fellowship-trained radiologists and a highly acclaimed IR program. The physicians are also fully prepared and willing to train the right candidate.
Position Overview
- Role: Full-time, permanent PA in Interventional Radiology.
- Work-Life Balance: Unbeatable Monday–Friday schedule, either 4 or 5 days per week. Zero on-call, weekend, or night shift requirements.
- Team Environment: Collaborate daily with top-tier interventional radiologists and a highly supportive clinical staff.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform Procedures: Perform thoracentesis, paracentesis, biopsies, arthrograms, lumbar punctures, upper GI & barium studies, tunneled dialysis catheters, ports, breast procedures, and more.
- Licensure Support: The practice will actively assist you in becoming certified and licensed for fluoroscopy in the state of Oregon.
- Patient Care: Obtain comprehensive health histories and perform physical examinations for hospitalized patients.
- Clinical Collaboration: Attend daily rounds, communicate patient status effectively, and develop collaborative treatment plans.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date progress notes in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families regarding procedures, discharge, and follow-up care.
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: Active (or eligible to obtain) Oregon Physician Assistant license.
- Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS certification.
- Experience: Previous PA experience in radiology, surgery, ER, or critical care is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in utilizing EMR systems.
- Professional Attributes: Strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to high-quality patient care, and a dedicated interest in specializing in interventional radiology.
