- Work Dates: As soon as credentialed for a 6-month contract
- Schedule: M-F 7:30am-4:00pm
- Worksite Setting: Hospital/Clinic
- Scope of Work: Pre and Peri procedural patient management for interventional radiology procedures. Central venous access/catheter insertions and removals including port removals. Pre-procedure evaluations, including moderate sedation assessments and consent procedures. - Perform preprocedure evaluation, consent, and screening for IR patients (including moderate sedation assessment and consent procedures).
- Place and remove central venous access devices and assist with other catheter procedures consistent with local privileging (primary focus on port insertions/removals and central venous access).
- Enter preprocedure orders and postprocedure documentation in Epic; manage order sets and procedure-related charting.
- Coordinate with radiology, nursing, anesthesia, and procedural teams to optimize patient flow and safety.
- Communicate with patients and families regarding procedures, risks/benefits, and postprocedure care instructions.
- Assist with outpatient followup and cover select clinic encounters to offset outpatient workload if procedural volume is low.
Avg 10-15 port procedures per day.
- Licenses, Certifications, Requirements: ACLS, BLS, State License, DEA. Board Certification. A min of 2-3 years of advanced practice experience in procedural or interventional radiology.
