osition Overview
LanceSoft Inc. is seeking an experienced Locum Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant to support a high-volume inpatient surgical service in Tacoma, WA. This is a procedure-heavy, high-acuity role requiring strong experience in cardiac and thoracic surgery, ICU management, and robotic-assisted thoracic procedures.
⚠️ Robotic thoracic surgery experience is required. Providers without this experience will not be considered.
Job Responsibilities
Schedule:
Weekdays with 3–4 call days per week
1:4 weekend call rotation
Hours:
Typical weekday shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (may extend)
On-call shifts may run 10–12+ hours
Weekend Coverage: Required
On-Call: Required (pager coverage)
Patient Volume: ~20 adult patients/day
Cases per Week:
6–8 Cardiac cases
9–12 Thoracic cases
EMR: Epic
Credentialing: ~90 days
Reason for Coverage: Staff retirement
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of Cardiothoracic Surgery experience
Robotic thoracic surgery experience (REQUIRED)
ACLS, BLS, DEA
Clean malpractice history
WA license preferred (IMLC considered)
Skills
Valve surgeries (open & minimally invasive)
Aortic & aortic arch reconstruction
Robotic-assisted thoracic surgery (REQUIRED)
VATS & DaVinci thoracic procedures
Endoscopic vein harvest
Open radial artery harvest
Thoracic and foregut procedures
