Position Description
Employees in this position are responsive for augmenting a supervising physician's data gathering abilities to reach decisions and institute patient care plans. Provides health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of a Physician.
Major/Essential Functions
Provides direct patient services under supervision and delegation of Unit Psychiatrist. Provides direct treatment to offenders with mental illness, by diagnosing, assessing, prescribing, and counseling methods appropriate to the situation/conditions. Obtains appropriate psychiatric health data from patients and nursing plans. Establishes and maintains a professional relationship with other staff management plans, records in appropriate EMR progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity with prescribed therapeutic regiments, emotional problems of daily living and health maintenance. Orders appropriate test and make referrals.
