Psychiatry Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) – Inpatient Coverage
Location: Mankato, MN - Minnespolis 80m
Department: Psychiatry & Psychology
Setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health
Position Overview
This supplemental Psychiatry NP/PA role supports inpatient behavioral health services by providing vacation, CME, and leave coverage for an established inpatient psychiatry team. The position offers flexible coverage across inpatient units with options for in-person, virtual, or hybrid practice models.
Position Highlights
* Supplemental coverage for vacations, CME, and leaves of absence
* 7 on / 7 off team-based inpatient model
* Coverage across inpatient units in southern Minnesota
* Virtual, in-person, or hybrid coverage options
* Collaborative model with inpatient psychiatrists and NP/PAs
* On-call coverage supported by both physician and APP providers
Clinical Responsibilities
* Provide inpatient psychiatric care and emergency department consult support
* Manage psychiatric conditions using pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic approaches
* Conduct comprehensive psychiatric interviews and histories
* Coordinate care with multidisciplinary inpatient teams
* Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care teams
* Support continuity of care across inpatient behavioral health units
Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years experience as a Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider
* At least 1 year of direct inpatient behavioral health experience
Nurse Practitioner
* Master’s-prepared graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
* Current Minnesota RN and APRN license
* Certification as FNP or ANP
* PMHNP-BC strongly preferred
* Doctoral degree preferred
Physician Assistant
* Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
* Current NCCPA certification
* Licensure by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice
* CAQ in Psychiatry strongly preferred
Additional Requirements
* Eligible for DEA registration and billing privileges
* BLS certification required
