**Psychiatry NP Opening - Detroit Lakes, MN** Located 45m to Fargo *Detroit Lakes team is seeking a mental health practitioner to join them in serving patient populations throughout the lakes area.* **Position Details** - Full-time, permanent - Employed - Will consider 0.8 - 1.0 FTE, full-time status; Mon-Fri from 8am-5pm - Outpatient Practice (95%); inpatient/ED consults (5%) - Detroit Lakes Clinic Coverage: 2-3 days per week with 10-14 patients/day - Outreach to Park Rapids: 2-3 days per week with 8-12 patients/day - New graduates will be considered - Adult population, pediatric training would be of benefit - Responsible for providing and supporting behavioral health care services to individual patients and families across the continuum of care. - Find support and resources from professional, patient-focused and compassionate Behavioral Health group that includes Physicians, advanced practice clinicians and dedicated support staff. - This highly-respected team (along with a growing practice and great facilities to work within) provide the ideal setting for candidates seeking a strong support system. **Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Mental Requirements:** - Advanced practice psychiatric-mental health nurse is limited to the provision of primary mental health care services to those at risk for mental disorders or presently in need of psychiatric-mental health services. - Designing and conducting mental illness preventive interventions. - Conducting individual psychotherapy, or family, group and network therapies as needed. - Conducting health screening and psychiatric evaluation. - Prescribing, monitoring, managing, and evaluating psychopharmacological and related medications. - Providing integrated mental health services in general health settings. - Collaborating with psychiatrists, seeking consultation when necessary and referring patients to other providers (physicians or nurse practitioners in other specialties) when the patients physical or mental health condition requires it. - Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to promote behavioral health services on the continuum of care. **Licensure/Certifications:** - Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state. - State licensure as either an Adult or Family Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Clinical Nurse Specialist with graduate coursework in: - Advanced health assessment (to include both physical and mental health). - Pathophysiology (or neurophysiology/biophysiology). - Pharmacology and/or psychopharmacology (both preferred). - Diagnosis and medication management of psychiatric illness (clinical practicum); AND have supervised clinical training at the graduate or post-graduate level - Current certification in CPR. - National certification, in applicable area. - Successful completion of credentialing process prior to practice.
