Job Summary
Geisinger is seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our NICU team in the Geisinger Northeast Regional Neonatology Division, consisting of Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center (GWV) in Wilkes-Barre, PA and Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC) in Scranton, PA. The GWV service is centered around a private room Level 3 NICU and the GCMC service is centered around a private room Level 2 NICU; both NICUs are located immediately adjacent to their respective labor and delivery service. Opportunity Details
Network NICU Coverage (Level 3 NICU; 14 beds, expanding to 20 beds & Level 2 NICU; 7 beds under development)
2,000+ deliveries annually
Flexible shift combinations (8hr, 16hr, and 24hr shifts)
No outpatient clinic
Essential Responsibilities
Attending deliveries/delivery room management of all infants less than 35 weeks and other high-risk indications
Admissions including history and physical
Assessments and ongoing management of current NICU patients
Intubation
Umbilical line placement
Chest tubes
Arterial puncture
Arterial line placement
Ventilator management
Others as applicable
Position Details
Education
Bachelor's Degree-Physician Assistant (Required), Master's Degree-Physician Assistant (Preferred)Experience
Certification(s) and License(s)
Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body; Certified Physician Assistant - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)About Geisinger
