Job Responsibilities

ECU Health Physicians and The James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital, located in Greenville, North Carolina, are seeking a board certified Physician Assistant or Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join their pediatric surgery team. Applicants should be comfortable with trauma, pre-operative preparation, and post-operative care. Surgical experience is preferred.
The successful candidate will play an integral part of the pediatric surgery team and will assist in delivering surgical healthcare to children cared for at the Maynard Children's Hospital.
Job Highlights:

· Mix of inpatient and outpatient clinical responsibilities will include delivery of care in the PICU, NICU, Pediatric Medical-Surgical unit, outpatient clinic, telehealth, as well as emergency room consults
· Opportunity to perform minor procedures including abscess incision and drainage, burn care, suction rectal biopsies, and line removal
· Established team inclusive of 4 surgeons and 1 advanced practice provider
· Monday-Friday schedule
· No call
· Epic EMR System
·Applicants will be required to have BLS certification from The American Heart Association and maintain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) upon hire

The Maynard Children’s Hospital, located on the campus of ECU Health Medical Center, is designed to care for children from newborns to 18 years of age (and up to 21 years of age if patient is being followed by a pediatric physician). The 206,499 square foot 198-bed facility provides highly specialized services including a pediatric intensive care (PICU), neonatal intensive care (NICU), kids immunosuppressed specialty unit (KISU), specialty care nursery, mother-baby unit, pediatric ECMO services, 24/7 children’s emergency department, acute dialysis and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), pediatric radiology, pediatric rehabilitation, general surgery, cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, and craniofacial surgery. The James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital at ECU Health Medical Center is a designated Children’s Miracle Network hospital, placing it among the nation’s top children’s facilities.
