• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (8.5-hour days, 40 hours/week)

Key Qualifications

• ASCP-PA (Pathologists' Assistant) certification required
• Surgical pathology and grossing experience highly valued
• Experience with gross examination, specimen dissection, and anatomic pathology documentation
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills for hospital laboratory settings
• Able to work full-time, Monday through Friday; no weekends or holidays required
• Familiarity with laboratory safety, specimen labeling, and chain-of-custody procedures

Responsibilities

• Perform gross examination and systematic dissection of surgical specimens for diagnostic pathology
• Prepare and accession specimens, ensure accurate documentation and labeling for the medical laboratory
• Assist pathologists with autopsies and specimen preparation as needed (autopsy support)
• Generate clear gross descriptions and select sections for histology and diagnostic review
• Collaborate with pathologists, histology technicians, and other clinical laboratory staff to support patient care
• Maintain compliance with hospital and laboratory safety protocols and regulatory standards
