🧬 Position Overview
We are seeking a Pathology Assistant (PA) for an ongoing locum opportunity in Georgetown, South Carolina. This role offers the chance to work in a collaborative laboratory and pathology environment, supporting pathology teams with daily case management and specimen processing.
This assignment will continue until a full-time provider is hired, with the potential for future vacation coverage opportunities.
👩⚕️ Eligible Provider
✔️ Physician Assistant – Pathology Assistant (PA-C)
✔️ Must have Pathology Assistant experience
✔️ NPI not required for this role
🔎 Key Responsibilities
🔬 Assist pathologists with gross examination of surgical specimens
📋 Ensure daily caseload is completed before the end of each shift
🧪 Support laboratory workflow and specimen processing
🤝 Collaborate with the pathology and laboratory teams to maintain efficient operations
🏥 Practice Environment
🏥 Work within a hospital-based pathology laboratory setting
📚 Academic medical center experience not required
🚫 No trauma designation required
💻 Telehealth experience not required
📅 Schedule & Coverage
☀️ Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
⏳ 1-hour unpaid lunch break
📆 Ongoing assignment until a permanent hire is made
🔁 Opportunity for future coverage assignments

📍 Primary coverage in Georgetown, South Carolina
