Pathology Assistant Job Details – Cambridge, MA

• Location: Cambridge, MA (02138) – Boston metro area healthcare jobs
• Setting: Hospital Pathology Department
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/24/2025, End: 2/21/2026)
• Shift: 8-hour evening shifts (3:00pm – 11:30pm, Monday–Friday; flexible start between 2:30pm–4:00pm)
• Hours: 40 hours per week (72 guaranteed hours biweekly)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $3000 - $3080
• Employment Type: Travel Pathology Assistant Contract

Pathology Assistant Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pathology Assistant in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting
• Graduation from a NAACLS-accredited Pathology Assistant program
• ASCP certification required (Pathology Assistant, PA-ASCP)
• Ability to work consistent evening shifts
• Travel healthcare professionals only (local candidates not accepted)
• Must have been separated from Beth Israel Lahey Health for at least 6 months (perm, per diem, or contract)

Pathology Assistant Responsibilities

• Examine, describe, and dissect gross surgical specimens under the supervision of hospital pathologists
• Triaging tissue samples for special studies and laboratory analysis
• Coordinate Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) activities within the pathology department
• Prepare statistical reports; maintain logs, forms, and procedure manuals
• Collaborate with the Anatomic Pathology Manager and Laboratory Director to ensure optimal patient care and clinical support
