Position Type: Permanent | Full-Time | Physician Assistant – Trauma Surgery

Overview

Seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to provide overnight trauma and acute care surgery coverage in a hospital-based setting. This role involves managing high-acuity trauma and emergency general surgery patients with a high level of autonomy and physician collaboration.

Practice Highlights

  • Overnight shifts providing trauma and acute care surgery coverage

  • Manage trauma admissions, emergency general surgery, and inpatient care

  • Assist trauma surgeons with procedures, resuscitation, and operative support

  • Perform evaluations, develop treatment plans, and interpret diagnostics

  • EMR: Epic

  • Work autonomously while collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team

  • Participation in professional development and leadership opportunities

  • System-wide name clearance required

Candidate Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (Master’s degree required)

  • NCCPA certification (PA-C) – REQUIRED (no exceptions)

  • Unrestricted Colorado PA license – REQUIRED

  • Eligible for DEA and Medicare/Medicaid enrollment – REQUIRED

  • BLS certification (no exemptions) – REQUIRED

  • Minimum 2 years of trauma surgery experience OR completion of a surgical fellowship – HIGHLY PREFERRED

  • Not accepting fresh graduates

  • No visa sponsorship available (no J-1 or H-1B)

  • Clean malpractice and license history preferred

  • No sanctions/exclusions from HHS/OIG or GSA – REQUIRED
