Job Title: CT Surgery Physician Assistant – Locum
Location: Lexington, KY
Job Summary:
Seeking a certified Physician Assistant proficient in first-assisting CABG, AVR, MVR, and thoracotomy/lung resection cases. Duties include OR coverage, telemetry, and ICU responsibilities.
Schedule & Availability:

1–2 call days per week
-
One weekend per month (Friday 7 AM – Monday 7 AM)

8-hour weekday shifts (6:30 AM – 3 PM with 30-min lunch)

PRN coverage; start as soon as credentialed
-
No call during weekdays
Setting: Inpatient/OR
EMR: Epic
Support Staff: Works directly with surgeons (no additional APP support)
Reason for Coverage: Coverage need while recruiting a full-time PA
Procedures:

Vein harvest
-
Chest tube placement
-
Surgical CT procedures
Credentialing:
-
Timeframe: 90–110 days
-
Must meet credentialing standards
-
Temporary privileges available (~6 weeks after application)
Travel:
-
Lodging options available near the medical district
-
Preference for local candidates, but travel support may be considered
Requirements:

Active KY PA License (or ability to obtain) – Required

BLS and ACLS (AHA approved) – Required

Clean malpractice history – Preferred

Minimum 5 years of experience – Required

Must be able to perform all required surgical procedures
