Orthopedic APP | OR First Assist + Clinic | Texas PA

An established health system in a growing West Texas regional metro is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join its Orthopedic Surgery team.

This is a full-time, hospital-employed opportunity offering a diverse mix of OR first assist, outpatient clinic, inpatient rounding, and postoperative care. The position is ideal for an APP who enjoys being involved throughout the entire orthopedic patient experience—from initial evaluation through surgery and recovery.

Position Highlights

• Full-time, hospital-employed Orthopedic APP
• Monday–Friday | 8 AM–5 PM
• Combination of OR, clinic, and hospital rounding
• Serve as first assist in the operating room
• Postoperative evaluations and follow-up care
• Work closely with Orthopedic Surgeons and the broader care team
• Call responsibilities as assigned
• Established health system with strong clinical and administrative support

Practice Details

• Assist Orthopedic Surgeons during operative procedures
• Evaluate and manage patients in the outpatient clinic
• Participate in inpatient rounding
• Provide preoperative and postoperative care
• Manage routine orthopedic follow-up visits
• Coordinate care with physicians, nursing, rehabilitation, and other hospital services

Candidate Requirements

• Certified Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP)
• Master’s degree from an accredited PA or NP program
• Eligible for Texas licensure
• BLS and ACLS
• Orthopedic and/or surgical experience preferred
• OR first-assist experience preferred
• Comfortable working across the OR, clinic, and inpatient setting
