Orthopedic Total Joint Advanced Practice Provider Opportunity in Southaven, MS
An orthopedic practice is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support a Total Joint team. This role provides comprehensive patient care under the supervision of orthopedic surgeons, including clinic responsibilities and surgical assistance.
Position Details
• Full-time opportunity
• Provide patient evaluations including history, physical exams, and patient/family education
• Review and interpret laboratory, imaging, and therapy reports
• Develop diagnoses and treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
• Maintain and review patient records and documentation
• Implement physician-directed protocols and treatment plans
• Perform injections, aspirations, and placement or removal of sutures and staples
• Assist with reductions of fractures and dislocations and removal of superficial orthopedic hardware
• Assist in the operating room with total joint surgical procedures
• Provide first aid and emergency care when necessary
• Work collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff to ensure high-quality patient care
Requirements
• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Physician Assistant: Graduate of an accredited PA program with national certification
• Nurse Practitioner: Master’s degree in Nursing with national NP certification
• Active or eligible for state licensure
• Previous experience in minor medical or emergency care preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and patient management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based orthopedic environment
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
