We are seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to support hospital-based orthopedic services. This role involves inpatient care, emergency department coverage, surgical assistance, and procedural support in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, document histories, and develop and implement treatment plans

  • Participate in daily inpatient rounds and multidisciplinary care teams

  • Utilize EMR systems for order entry and clinical documentation

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests including X-ray, CT, MRI, EMG, and bone scans

  • Perform orthopedic procedures such as:

    • Digital blocks and regional anesthesia

    • Wound closure, debridement, incision & drainage

    • Tendon repair and minor outpatient procedures

    • Joint and bursa aspirations and injections

    • Closed reduction of fractures and dislocations

    • Cast, splint, and brace application

    • Percutaneous pinning, K-wire removal, and hardware removal

  • Assist in surgery including first assist, tissue closure, and application of surgical appliances

  • Provide orthopedic call coverage for Emergency Department and inpatient units, including weekday, weekend, holiday, and 24-hour call rotations

  • Dictate discharge summaries, histories & physicals, and progress notes

Required Qualifications

  • Board Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

  • Active Oregon state license

  • Full-time availability

  • Eligible for Medical Staff or Allied Health Professional privileges

  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced, acute-care settings

Credentialing & Onboarding Requirements

  • NPDB self-query (required at submission)

  • CAQH login credentials (required at time of offer)

  • EPIC training required (testing-out option available)

  • Temporary privileges may be available during credentialing

Schedule Details

  • Hospital-based role

  • Call coverage includes weekday, weekend, night, holiday, and 24-hour shifts

  • Work week: Sunday–Saturday

  • Overtime applies after 40 hours
