Locum Orthopedic PA needed in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Seeking locum Advanced Practice Provider (APP) support for Orthopedics team, beginning February 9, 2026, to cover scheduled provider absences.

Assignment Details

• Practice setting: Inpatient Orthopedics at a Level I Trauma Center

• Patient population: Adult and geriatric

• Facility size: 300 beds

• Reason for coverage: APPs out of office; coverage needed to maintain orthopedic surgeon support

• No resident or teaching supervision required

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM

• Coverage dates:

  • Feb 9–13

  • Feb 16–20

  • Feb 23–27

  • Mar 9–13

Clinical Responsibilities

• Orthopedic consults

• Rounding and H&Ps

• First assist as needed (not guaranteed)

• General support of the orthopedic surgeon on call

Technology

• EMR: Epic

• Completion of Epic modules and virtual training required prior to start

Credentialing

• Standard credentialing timeframe: 60–90 days

• Emergency temporary privileges not available

• Credentialing limited to this facility only

Travel & Lodging

• Site will not accept local providers

• Providers must stay at approved/preferred hotels and follow travel policies

• Air travel acceptable

• Travel origin and any lodging exceptions must be disclosed at submission

Submission Requirements

• NP (AANP/ANCC) or PA (NCCPA) certification

• Active Colorado license or Compact RN license (NURSYS disclosure required)

• Active DEA (transferable or new; must be maintained for duration of assignment)

• BLS preferred (must obtain prior to start if not active)

• NPDB self-query dated within 30 days of submission

• Clean background and malpractice history

• Ability to cover listed dates and disclose ongoing monthly availability

• Acknowledgement of and compliance with EMR training requirements

• Confirmation of lodging and travel requirements

• First assist experience preferred but not required
