Advanced Practice Provider – Orthopedic Trauma
*Location: Memphis, TN | Full-Time, permanent position*
Position Overview
Seeking a motivated Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to join a busy Orthopedic Trauma team at a leading Level I Trauma Center. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside orthopedic trauma surgeons and residents, providing high-impact care to patients with acute musculoskeletal injuries.
Position Highlights
* Participate in the acute evaluation and management of orthopedic trauma patients
* Assist in surgical procedures and perform floor/ED procedures including fracture and joint reductions, traction pin placement, laceration repair, and arthrocentesis
* Engage in a diverse range of responsibilities: inpatient rounding, emergency evaluations, surgical assistance, and outpatient follow-ups
* Enjoy regular weekday hours at a single location – no nights, weekends, or call
* Mentored training provided with progressive autonomy as skills develop
* New graduates encouraged to apply – learn from an experienced trauma APP and contribute to system-wide PA education once proficient
Responsibilities
* Perform patient evaluations, including history, physical exams, and diagnostic interpretation
* Collaborate with physicians to develop treatment plans
* Assist in surgery and manage postoperative care
* Administer injections, aspirations, suture/staple removal, and fracture/dislocation reductions
* Maintain accurate patient records and ensure quality, patient-centered care
Qualifications
* Physician Assistant:
* Bachelor’s degree and graduation from an accredited PA program
* National Board Certification (NCCPA)
* Valid Tennessee license
* Nurse Practitioner:
* Master’s degree in Nursing
* Current RN license and national certification as a Nurse Practitioner
* Previous experience in orthopedics, trauma, or emergency medicine preferred
* Intermediate computer skills and EMR proficiency required
