Seeking a Board-Certified PA in Orthopedic Surgery for full-time locum coverage. The role involves collaborating with attending orthopedic surgeons to provide comprehensive patient care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. The position includes call responsibilities—weekdays, weekends, and occasional nights—with opportunities to assist in surgeries and perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Job Responsibilities
• Assist in orthopedic surgeries including first assist, tissue closures, and appliance application.
• Perform procedures such as joint injections, closed reductions, digital blocks, wound care, fracture pinning, and hardware removal.
• Serve as primary orthopedic call for ED and inpatient units, including rotating holiday, weekend, and night coverage.
• Coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team and respond to emergent and urgent orthopedic needs.
Qualifications
• Active Oregon License – Required
• NPDB self-query and CAQH credentials – Required at time of offer
• BLS Certification – Required
• Minimum 1 year of orthopedic surgical experience preferred
• Ability to work independently in high-pressure and emergent situations
Working Hours
• Start Date: ASAP
• Orientation: 4 hours of unpaid EPIC training (testing out possible in 2 hours)
• Credentialing timeframe: Minimum 60 days
