The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) seeks a nurse practitioner or physician associate to join our Orthopedics team at the Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) in Anchorage, Alaska. We would be delighted to discuss our Orthopedics nurse practitioner or physician associate opening with you! ANMC is a Level II Trauma Center, which serves as the tertiary referral center for Alaska Native and American Indian people across the entire state. ANMC offers over 30 specialties, and provides a full complement of acute medical and primary care services. Our unique patient population, breathtaking geography and cohesive team make this a one-of-a-kind practice opportunity!

Working in collaboration with our orthopedic physicians and physician associates, you will see inpatients and outpatients on our medical center campus. Responsibilities include: completing comprehensive histories and physical exams; ordering and interpreting tests; prescribing medications; developing treatment plans; and educating patients/families on treatment options. The advanced practice professional (APP) will also rotate into surgery as a first assist approximately one day per week. Our APPs also participate in field clinics across the state of Alaska 2-3 times per year.

Work Schedule: Full time Monday- Friday; four 10-hour day shifts.

Qualifications: Master’s Degree or Doctorate in nursing or physician assistant; certification by an approved national certifying body; Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certification; State of Alaska Advanced Practice Provider License. Preferred: 2 to 5 years’ post-graduate experience as a nurse practitioner or PA managing orthopedic patients; genuine interest in orthopedics, astute clinical skills; superior communication and relationship building skills; flexible team player; culturally sensitive.
