Position Description:

As an Orthopedic Physician Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in the comprehensive management of orthopedic patients. You will work closely with our team of orthopedic surgeons and medical staff to deliver high-quality care, from initial patient evaluation to surgical assistance and postoperative care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Evaluation: Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests, to formulate accurate diagnoses.

  2. Treatment Planning: Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons to develop individualized treatment plans, which may include surgical intervention, non-surgical treatments, and rehabilitation.

  3. Hospital Employment: Robust training program ranging from 4-12 weeks supporting 1 Joints Surgeon in the office and 2 days in the OR.Award winning support staff. Outstanding growth opportunities- Hospital is growing and adding new services with manageable patient volume
  4. Surgical Assistance: Assist in orthopedic surgeries, providing support to the surgical team and ensuring the safety and comfort of the patient.

  5. Postoperative Care: Monitor patients during their recovery, adjusting treatment plans as needed and educating them on self-care and rehabilitation techniques.

  6. Orthopedic Procedures: Perform minor orthopedic procedures such as joint aspirations, wound care, and cast/splint applications.

  7. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on orthopedic conditions, treatment options, and postoperative care to empower them in making informed decisions about their health.

  8. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, nurses, and medical staff, to provide multidisciplinary care.

  9. Research and Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in orthopedic medicine, and contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives at [Your Facility/Hospital Name].

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited physician assistant program.
  • Current New York state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
  • Board Certification
  • A minimum of 2 years of orthopedic outpatient or inpatient experience
