Our client in Bronx, NY is seeking a physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join their surgical team (focusing in orthopedics, ENT and urology)! Ideal candidates will have at least one year of experience in a surgical specialty, however the team is very open to training the right candidate provided they have a passion for the field, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities:

• Full-time position
• Shift work (days, nights and weekends)
• Collaborate with a fantastic team of board-certified physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners
• First assist in the OR, hospital rounds, pre and post-operative care and in-clinic work
• Obtain comprehensive health histories and perform complete physical examinations during hospitalization
• Develop patient treatment plans and educate patients about discharge care
• Communicate patient status information, attend daily rounds, and document progress in the electronic medical record

Qualifications:

• New York Assistant or Nurse Practitioner License
• BLS/ACLS Certified
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Proficient with EMR systems
