Job Description

Last Update: 3/01/21

Orthopaedic Associates, PA is actively searching to hire another PA for a permanent full-time position with one of our busiest providers. Of note – this is a “new-grad friendly position.” Dr. Landry is an ABOS board certified fellowship-trained Orthopaedic spine surgeon who has been with Orthopaedic Associates, PA for over 5 ½ years, and he is currently one of six managing partners of Orthopaedic Associates, PA and is the current president of the practice.

Dr. Landry’s current PA will stay with him, but she is looking to scale back her current workload to a part-time clinic-only schedule in preparation for starting a family. Because of this, Dr. Landry is currently looking to bring an additional PA into his practice as his primary PA to act as his first-assist on all cases, to see patients in outpatient clinic, to manage rounding responsibilities, and be first call for general his ortho call. His current PA will run an independent spine clinic at one of the other locations 4 days a week.

Dr. Landry’s practice is 95-97% elective spine surgery, the other 3-5% being general orthopaedic trauma. Dr Landry only operates at two facilities currently: Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast for 90% of cases, the other 10% occurring at Surgical Specialist Ambulatory Surgery Center. Dr. Landry’s practice is generally 70% outpatient and 30% inpatient with cases consisting of ACDFs, Cervical Disc Replacement, Posterior cervical laminectomy, Minimally invasive laminectomy/discectomy, ALIFs, and XLIFs. Other than ALIFs and XLIFs, Dr Landry utilizes surgical microscopy for all other spine cases – which allows his first assist to be an active participant during all aspect of the case.

Dr. Landry currently sees patients at all four Orthopaedic Associates, PA outpatient clinic locations in Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Crestview, and Niceville and will expect the same of his PA. From a volume standpoint, Dr Landry and his current PA see over 6000 patients a year and do over 300 elective spine cases a year. Currently, he is in the OR 2 full days a week (sometimes 3) and clinic 3 full days a week (sometimes 2).

Destin FL is a fantastic place to live with wonderful year-around weather, plenty of activities to fulfill an active lifestyle, and of course – the best beaches in all of Florida.

Dr. Landry lives by the moto “work hard play hard” and is looking for an additional team-mate to help grow the practice.

Thank you for your consideration of this position and good luck.
